This glorious Lipizzaner stallion is the second release by artist Michelle
Platt. Featuring the dancing white stallion performing the Haute Ecole,
"airs above the ground" movement known as the capriole. The origin of
this move dates back to the times when horses were used in the military,
and the mighty leap, accompanied by kicking back hooves, both evaded
and stunned the enemy. Here, Michelle has captured the graceful
movement and the joy of a young stallion performing the movement for
the very first time.
The Lipizzan horse was made famous by the Spanish Riding School of
Vienna. The breed is characterized by rounded lines and old-fashioned
Iberian conformation. This breed has both the strength and musculature
to perform the magical movements known as the 'airs above the ground'.
