" I have had horses all my life and will always have at least one
until the day I die. I am the granddaughter of professional oil
painters and the niece of a puppeteer. I have always loved art but
I have never wanted to follow in the footsteps of my family.
"Although I have always enjoyed painting and drawing, I have
never felt passionate enough about it to do it for a living. Then I
stumbled onto sculpture and of course it seems to be the
hardest art form to get into, but for me that's it. I have no formal
education to speak of outside of all through school and some
college art classes here and there. It is late in my life to begin I
suppose but here I am none the less.
"I am currently in the process of becoming involved in our local
art co-op here in Corvallis. I am excited about meeting new
people active in the art community.
"I am excited about starting some new pieces that involve
human-horse interaction. I want to eventually focus my sculpture
on the healing spirit of the horse through our lives. As children
and into our adult lives horses continue to be a force of kindness
and acceptance that we all need and I want to express that. "
