Sheri Rhodes is a successful sculptor and painter of horse
models. She and her husband Will also own and operate
Mountain View Studios, a resin casting company. EquinArt
Creations partners with Mountain View Studios to provide Artists
with full service casting, sales and fulfillment services.
"I started painting and resculpting models when I was 12 years
old, but didn't go full-time until 1998. I started painting to support
myself while I stayed home with my two children. I started
sculpting original sculptures in 2000, and like to get one or two
done a year. I've had no formal education in art, but have taken
several sculpting workshops by Lynn Fraley.
"My favorite breeds to sculpt are drafts, Arabians, stock horses,
and ponies. My favorite colors to paint are dapple grey, chestnut,
and buckskin. Once I started sculpting, my husband Will took an
interest in resin casting, so he started casting for me in 2002,
then quit his day job in 2004 to cast full-time for me and other
artists. We both enjoy the hobby and our work, and are currently
planning to build a large casting facility on our property!"
